OH SO CRAFTY

ACTIVITY ADVENT CALENDAR

Oh by gosh by golly, it’s time for mistletoe and holly…& Christmas movies & holiday baking & egg nog & Advent! I could go on and on, but I don’t plan to bore you today. It’s time to break out those Advent calendars and count down the days to the best day of the year! If you were lucky enough to get your hands on an Aldi wine or beer Advent calendar, I applaud you. As a second best (& much cheaper) alternative , I made an Advent calendar garland. Ooooo, ahhhhh!

I bought a pack of mini craft sacks and labeled each one with a number from 1 to 24. I glued mini pom poms to the top border of the craft sacks, punched holes in the back to string them together, and added either a note with an activity to complete that day or candy to each sack.

Some activities are eating/drinking (drink egg nog, eat peppermint ice cream), acts to get in the spirit (watch a Christmas movie, drive by Christmas lights), and donating to others (give money to a charity, send a Christmas card to someone in the military). Everyday is something a little different, but all festive! This is a fun way to intentionally celebrate the holiday season and make sure you get the most of this wonderful time of year!

P.S. If you have run out of places for Christmas garland (because same), you can hang each ‘day’ individually on a tree to make an Advent Christmas tree! Happy merry making!
