BATHROOM SWEET BATHROOM
I don’t know about you, but when I move into a new home, the thought of decorating the whole place is extremely overwhelming. Not only is it time consuming to figure out where every picture frame or abstract piece of artwork should live, it can also be quite pricey. When my husband and I moved into our home, the very first room I completed was the bathroom. Maybe that’s because I wanted a nice cozy place to take a bath and relax or maybe it’s because it’s the smallest room in the house? We may never know! Anyway, this space came together quickly and inexpensively. Win freaking win!
I really like the rustic look…but not overboard rustic. I don’t want my bathroom to look like a barn after all. Therefore, the colors I chose are very neutral [brown, silver, black]. Here’s how I did it for less than $80!
Shelves ($38)
In order to achieve that subtle rustic look, I installed these faux wood shelves for $15/each. The 18 inch shelves were the perfect size for the space above the toilet. I installed them with 6 inch straight pipe brackets at a whopping $2/each to complete the look.
Accessories ($15)
Since you can’t have enough storage in a bathroom, I like to decorate with functional pieces. For starters, I bought a wire basket at TJ Maxx for $5 to hold extra TP. On the shelves, I re-purposed 2 mini mason jars to hold cotton balls and Q tips, and added a fake plant, candle holder, and “H” sign all for $10.
Wall Artwork ($10)
I saw this sign at Hobby Lobby and knew it was exactly what my bathroom needed! It’s quite nice to have a sign greet me every time I step into the loo.
Shower Curtain ($15)
This is where the silver gets pulled in. I found this shower curtain at Kohl’s, and I think it complements the wood pieces nicely. It’s easy on the eyes but not too busy.
And there ya have it! An organized, functional, inviting bathroom decorated on a budget! Now if I can decorate every other room in my house for this cheap…I think I’m up for the task!
