D8 NIGHT!
I seem to be a happier person when I have fun things to look forward to. Like an upcoming vacation or concert, The Bachelor on Monday nights, or date night! I am sure the same can be said for 95% of the people on this planet. Anyways, this is how my husband and I implemented a weekly date night into our schedule. I’ll be honest, I got this idea from my sister and her husband, but it seems like a great idea for any couple! Take turns planning the date night whether it’s once a week or once a month. It’s supposed to be fun so don’t make it stressful!
Here are my best at home, inexpensive date night ideas any couple should plan!
1) Take a love language quiz – Learn how you and your partner receive love with this quiz (https://www.5lovelanguages.com/quizzes/) You might just learn something about each other and be a better couple for it!
2) Spa night – Buy some super inexpensive face masks, get into your comfiest robes, and relax with one another! My husband and I recently did this and surprisingly, he really enjoyed the face mask! How could you hate silky smooth skin??
3) Prepare a tasting – Make/buy 3 or more of any food/drink to taste and decide which is your favorite! Cheese dip, wings, smoothies, wine, beer! The options are endless! It could be extra fun to complete the tasting blindfolded and guess each flavor.
4) Get some exercise – Pilates or Yoga workouts might be good choices if you aren’t used to working out together. Here is one workout my husband and I enjoy. It only takes 15 minutes, but it is sure to get your heart rate up! You can’t beat that post-workout feeling!
5) Play a board game – Monopoly, anyone? If you aren’t a frequent board gamer, this is a fun twist for an ordinary evening.
6) Have a “picnic” on your living room floor – Just how it sounds…have a meal on the floor! This is pretty simple but definitely memorable!
7) Play 20 questions – Do literally what the title says… ask each other 20 random questions. Some examples, you ask? What is your favorite color? Do you like ice cream or popsicles better? Would you rather have never ending money or never ending love? Anything you can think of!
8) Create an art project – It can be as simple as coloring a good ole fashioned color by numbers sheet or something more challenging like building a piece of furniture for your home!
Hopefully, these ideas inspire you to get your own date nights started for you and your boo. You won’t regret having something fun to look forward to! Shoot, I might just take up poetry with that rhyme!
