PARTY TIME

DINNERS & DIAPERS BRUNCH

Let’s brunch, BABY! Recently, I threw a “Dinners & Diapers” brunch for my sister with baby #2 on the way. That’s right, mama gets all of the encore baby essentials…dinners for the family and diapers for the baby! Genius! ?

Guests arrived with gifts of frozen dinners (homemade or store bought) and were asked to fill out the tag below ? to attach to their meal so as to not get lost in a freezer. Details include the contents of the meal, freeze date, and directions to re-heat. An additional touch…the card reminds mama to send a picture of the new baby to the meal gifter! Everyone wins!

Since we came here to eat (& celebrate mama), a brunch spread is served! Hashbrown breakfast casserole, yogurt parfaits, mini cinnamon rolls, and a bagel bar! I used kraft paper and a sharpie to display and label the bagels and toppings! Acrylic bagel stands clearly display the bagel options and ramekins hold sweet and savory toppings! Fruits, honey, peanut butter, jelly, bacon, avocado and cream cheese!! The combinations are endless! There was even a delish brunch punch to sip on!

In keeping with the brunch theme, I added a “brunch, brunch baby” sign (kraft paper and a sharpie did the trick) to the entryway adorned with eucalyptus garland. I also utilized a chalkboard to highlight the party favors! “Jam packed with love for baby” was the catchphrase for the biscuit mix and jam favors! I used twine to attach the assorted jams to a box of biscuit mix which turned out to be an inexpensive goodie for the guests!

What a fun morning of food and merriment! I see more “Dinners & Diapers” brunches in my future 😉
