OH SO CRAFTY

DIY FELT PENNANTS

When a gal pal needs help bringing her twin boys’ nursery to life, you say “I’m up for the challenge” and get crafty! Together, we DIYed felt pennants marked with the boys’ names to hang above their cribs. 10/10 would recommend to instantly spark adventure in a room! Display alone or with your favorite organizations’ or sports teams’ pennants…either way this fun project will be a great addition to any nursery or play room!

Purchase a felt sheet large enough for the pennant size of your choosing and 1 (or more) accent color felt swatch(s) to add to the base of the pennant. Cut the felt sheet in a triangle of the size that fits your needs. A standard pennant is 12 inches tall at the base and 30 inches wide to the tip, but you do you! Cut a 1 inch strip from your regular felt swatch and hot glue it to the base of the pennant for a pop of color! For the names, I used a Cricut to cut the letters in vinyl and ironed them on. Be mindful that each letter should be smaller than the one before it to follow the pennant shape. If you don’t have a Cricut (you should get one), you could buy iron on stickers (in descending sizes) or stencils to cut the letters out of felt and hot glue to the pennant. Consider making pennants with fun phrases like “Be Kind”, “Explore”, or anything else that suits the space!

Pick up the glue gun…adventure awaits!!
