EVERYONE LOVES A PARTY FAVOR: SCHOOL THEME ✏️
Shout out to all the teachers! The underpaid, sometimes undervalued, educators of our youth. Consistently showing up to impart their wisdom, compassion, and love to their students whether they feel appreciated or not. I have so much respect for the educators of the world. A few times a year, I volunteer in the schools (for only an hour at a time) and when I go home, I’m ready for either a long nap or a tall glass of wine. The kids are great for the most part, but they will wear ya out! Speaking of selfless teachers, my sister is a teacher turned stay at home mom. When she got married, she was teaching 2nd grade so I wanted to make her bridal shower extra personalized and special! We made pencil party favors for the guests which was the perfect touch to her special day! They are a little cheesy, but a lotta cute!
To make, you need a pack of Rolos, a Hershey kiss, yellow and pink construction paper and foil. Cover the pack of Rolos in the yellow construction paper, add a pink piece of paper (about an inch wide) to the end to resemble an eraser, attach a 1/2 inch wide piece of foil to the bottom of the eraser, and glue a Hershey kiss to the other end of the Rolo for the tip of the pencil. Hot glue should hold it all! I added a tag that says “They are just ‘Write’ for each other” because I am here for all the bridal puns! What a fun party theme this could be for any engaged teachers in your life!
These candy pencils could also be a fun back to school gift for anyone preparing to start a new school year…teachers, students, bus drivers, school nurses! Swap out the tag for a more appropriate saying like “Let’s start this year off ‘Write'” and pass ’em out like candy on the first day back…oh wait! 😉 This is a perfect way to make sure the school year gets started on a sweet note. Happy Back to School!!
