PARTY TIME

I’M DREAMING OF AN ORNAMENT PARTY

Time to reminisce on the old world (2019 and before ?). Any “normal year”, David and I throw a Christmas party for our family and friends. Not just a Christmas party, but an ornament Christmas party (thanks for the inspo, mom & dad). Our guests bring store bought or handmade ornaments for our Christmas tree, and we pick our favs for prizes! We also provide all of the food and drinks for a night of merriment and yuletide fun! Everyone leaves a winner!

We have snow much fun, we think you should gather your best pals and throw an ornament party too! Put together a text/Facebook message/mailed invitation inviting guests to your festive soiree and ask them to bring 1 ornament to adorn your tree and be cherished forever. Inspire some creativity and encourage handmade ornaments. Give them the date/time of the party and check invites off your list!

Once party day has arrived, place a Christmas tree (size depending on the amount of guests you expect) near your front door and a sign directing guests to place their ornament on the tree. If you’re the hostess with the mostest, you’ll provide ornament hooks! Don’t peak! You (the host) will need to judge the ornaments for the contest once everyone has arrived. Invite guests in for a drink (I recommend this Christmas punch) and finger foods. I prepared a charcuterie board, BBQ jelly meatballs, caprese skewers, and ornament cookies to name a few party food stars!

Then comes the big moment, picking out those ornaments that really sleighed! David and I pre-determined categories and prepared a prize for each one. Our categories were ‘Overall Best’, ‘Most Creative’, ‘Ugliest’, & ‘Funniest’. Once we chose the winning ornaments, we placed a tag next to each one on the tree and gave the creators the prizes (possibilities include a box of candy, gift cards, cold hard cash)! The winners will be grinning ear to ear with Christmas cheer!

Take it from me, this is one jingle bell rockin’ party! By the time the last guest leaves, your heart will be as full as your Christmas tree!
