MICHIANA 2K20
The travel bug…it bit me. It bit me real good. I live for new adventures and crossing new states/countries off my list of places traveled. A goal of mine is to visit every U.S. state (see how many states you’ve been to here – I have 31/50!), and the year 2020 has no business getting in the way of that goal. So, we packed up the masks and hand sanitizer and off we went to Michiana!
This was a 4th of July family trip, and there is no better place to celebrate our independence & catch up with loved ones than at the beach! We stayed in Michigan City, IN which is 4 miles from the Michigan border on Lake Michigan! The first morning of the trip, we got up early to bike to Michigan aka a state I had never been! We took a leisurely ride up the coast to cross the border into “pure” Michigan! We didn’t stay long, but the early morning ride was worth the crisp Michigan air! We spent the rest of the day relaxing and playing with the kiddos on the beach. Other vacationers even set off fireworks on the beach for an evening show! God bless the USA!
The next day was spent soaking up more sun and sand on Lake Michigan followed by a twilight bike ride to the Michigan City boardwalk and lighthouse. Picture perfect views! We headed home the next day with fond, beachy memories of a summer weekend spent with the ones who mean the most!
